The original plein air pastel painting was done in Rocky Mountain National Park on a very cold day. Hiked in on snowshoes with some other artists and painted this near the Lil Buckaroo barn, on the west side of Trail Ridge Road.

The original plein air pastel painting was done in Rocky Mountain National Park of the Lil' Buckaroo Ranch Barn built in 1942. One of the few barns remaining in RMNP I hear it has survived the East Troublesome fire.
